Hello! I am Emily, author, editor, and photographer for Denver Darling.
I started blogging in January 2015 as my top project with only an Instagram account and a little knowledge of what I was doing. After spending a lot of time-saving for myself writing in journals and on my desktop, I started publishing it here. I fell in love and never looked back.
I am a proud student of the University of Oklahoma where I have studied social relations. Rowing was what took me to Oklahoma, and I always appreciate it. Boomer Soon!
I love writing as it has always been a great love for me, and with my PR degree, I hope I will be able to write for the rest of my life. TDD is a great place for me to share what I love to do with you.
Although my blog is called Denver Darling, I am a Colorado importer living in Frisco, Texas. Undergrad took me to Oklahoma, post-grad life took me to Austin and my latest and most recent qualifications brought me here.
I grew up in Colorado and lived there until I moved to Norman for school in August 2015. I remember those beautiful Rocky mountains every day but Texas now has my heart.

( The Perfect Shorts for Summer ):-
I have to start with this post – I have been wearing these shorts incessantly this summer since I bought them. Not only are they perfect for casual everyday wear, but they are also perfect for a simple night out paired with a cute top.
If you follow on Instagram, you will notice that they have appeared in many pictures recently – because I have been wearing them a lot lately. They were important when I was in Florida, Colorado and I was always here in Texas.
Not only are denim shorts perfect, but they are also high-quality shorts – which makes them even better. I have found that, in my wardrobe, I often read about things with a higher waist than anything else. I love the style, and I think I add that nice little touch to any outfit.
You can find these shorts and many more at Nordstrom right now – maybe some for sale (buy on sale before August 6th)! If you are wearing really good shorts that you can wear all summer and have them next summer too, I would suggest you buy Nordstrom, J. Crew, and Gap. These shorts always prove that they last and will be your favorite all summer long.

( Books to Read this Year ):-
Learning is something that, when I have time, I love to do it. I always talk about how it takes me forever to finish books, and much of that has to do with time, but when I am given a complete book, I can be very satisfied with reading and a cup of coffee next to me.
Over the past few weeks, I have received a few different recommendations from both people around me and for reading various articles online. I shared some of these recommendations BEFORE I read them so I could keep you informed as I did!
Jon Gordon Carpenter // I found this book in the nutritionist of our team because it is so great in inspiring quotes. He has been reading this book and a few others like it a few weeks ago, and has recommended it to all athletes. It is about really building a life and learning those lessons that are necessary for you to make an impact. Another book like this is called Winning the First Lock Room.
All of these books have the same tendency: inspiration. I love a beautiful fictional book, but I also love finishing the book and I know it has influenced me. Not all of these books will be the same for everyone, but I think the common theme among them all allows choice for everyone to find something they like.
