The showroom is a new concept for one of the nation’s leading furniture retailers. Their team wanted to create Denver’s Ultimate Luxury Home Shopping Experience. A grand vaulted atrium welcomes customers to a 170,000-square-foot showroom that features a design center, café, home theater, and a range of furniture manufacturers in a state-of-the-art space designed to inspire and delight.

Create a musical experience that greets you in the parking lot, welcomes you to the Atrium, and accompanies you throughout your experience in all the diverse areas of the Showroom. The building will be used primarily as a retail showroom, but can also function as an event center for special occasions. The sheer size of the facility and the lack of actual “rooms” presented a number of challenges to the design team.
SOLUTION
Logic Integration created a ten-zone audio system that could be controlled using the Crestron Control system. The end user can go through the store and adjust the volume for each zone as well as change the sources for any particular zone. The Atrium features JBL main speakers and subwoofers that can support background music as well as live performances. Most of the showroom is equipped with 160 large white 8” Community pendant speakers, which have been selected for optimal coverage and a full range of audio frequency response. The speakers needed to blend into the ceiling background as most of the primary lighting in the showroom spaces is provided by the custom lighting designs chosen for each exhibition space. Areas like the “Man Cave” required the ability to have a different selection of resources, which could be coverage of the Furniture Row Racing team in a Nascar event one day and a special food event at night. In addition to the background music system, a separate home theater system has been installed where customers can relax and enjoy a movie from a variety of furniture offerings and listen to Sonance surround speakers and a wall-mounted subwoofer.
