Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have issued Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 for the recruitment of 3,993 vacancies for the posts of Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS). Candidates selected will be placed in Pay Level 6 with an initial pay of ₹35,400/-. The recruitment process comprises a 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I), 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II), Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination (ME).

Educational Qualification:
Three-year Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in relevant streams (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, etc.) or B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. Candidates awaiting final results as of the closing date (13.09.2026) are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit: (as on 01.01.2027): 18 to 33 years. Upper Age Relaxation: SC / ST: 5 Years OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 Years, PwBD (OBC-NCL): 13 Years, PwBD (SC/ST): 15 Years Ex-Servicemen: 3 to 8 years (after deduction of length of service from age)

Examination Details1st Stage CBT (Screening Test):Duration: 90 Minutes (120 Minutes for Scribe candidates) Questions: 100 Objective Questions Subjects: Mathematics (30 Qs),
General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs),
General Awareness (15 Qs), General Science (30 Qs).
2nd Stage CBT:Duration: 120 Minutes (160 Minutes for Scribe candidates) Questions: 150 Objective Questions Subjects: General Awareness (15 Qs), Physics & Chemistry (15 Qs), Basics of Computers (10 Qs), Basics of Environment & Pollution Control (10 Qs), Technical Abilities (100 Qs). Negative Marking: $1/3^{\text{rd}}$ mark deducted for every incorrect answer in both CBT-1 and CBT-2. Final Selection: Based on merit index in CBT-2, followed by Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination (ME).
